Amandas Treasures offers a 'Learn the Upholstery Trade' tuition service.
What makes me qualified to teach?
My love for upholstery has spanned over the last 23 years. During which time I have become qualified in City & Guilds level 2 & 3 in both modern and traditional upholstery. This has enabled me to train and support in upholstery tutorials.
How much will it cost?
I charge a flat rate of £40 an hour. This includes a full hour tuition, the use of an air compressor and industrial staple gun plus all the staples you need.
Set up will take 5-10 minutes prior to the lesson commencing and this is included in the hours lesson price. You will need to provide a small project to work on. Usually a footstool or small chair to begin with.
A block booking of 4 lessons will cost £140.
How long will it take?
I recommend no more than a two hour lesson at any one time so that what you learn during each session is given time to digest. However if your require longer this can also be accommodated. On average, small projects normally take two lessons to complete, larger projects will require more lesson time.
Are there any extra charges?
I request that you supply your own choice of fabric and any trim or braid you require for your project. Upholstery sundries such as webbing, hessian, foam etc, can be bought via myself (at cost price from my suppliers).
These do not amount to too much more and at the end of the day you have something in your home you can be proud to have made yourself.

Travel within 12 miles of Coalville (LE67 4QU), Leicestershire, is not charged however further afield will instil a travel charge of 60p per mile.
